Description
The Formula Ford test day begins with a session on learning how to operate the controls of the single-seat racing car—the lay-back driving position, the stubby, right hand 4 speed gearshift and the non-synchromesh down-changing technique known as 'heel/toe'.
Then it’s on to the circuit for 3 laps of the circuit in a passenger car for some observation laps with an instructor pointing out the features of the Wakefield Park circuit.
Next you hop into the Formula Ford for your 20 min session. In your session you will cover more than 10 laps of the 2.2km undulating circuit learning the lines and how to get the best from the car.
After your formula ford session you then have the option to take your road car for a 20min session with one of our qualified instructors in the passenger seat for some further tuition.
You will then break for your catered lunch. This gives you a great chance to compare your experience with fellow students.
After lunch we repeat the whole process with the speed of the cars is increased and the cars begin to show their real character. Lots of pulling out of the corners and a higher top speeds along the straights.
