Take a step back in time as you climb aboard one of our award winning 1940's WWII Tiger Moths. You will look the part wearing our leather flying helmet, goggles, gloves and flying jacket as you feel the wind in your face and experience the freedom of open cockpit flying. Bring a friend and try a Tiger Moth formation flight. If you dare, try some WWII style aerial dog fighting.
If you're a visitor to Melbourne or lived here all your life there's no better way to get your bearings and appreciate the sights around this beautiful city than by a flight in an open cockpit aircraft. This package is for the adrenalin, rolll through the sky with 25 minutes of aerobatics. From the front seat of the Tiger Moth you can experience the same sensations and excitement as a WW1 pilot experienced in his open cockpit bi-plane fighter more than 90 years ago.

The Tiger Moth
Tiger Moth VH-BEN, RAAF Serial Number A17-736. Build Number 1067. The aircraft was built at Bankstown on 28.10.44 and was then placed in storage until 13.5.48 where it saw operational service with 1FTS at Point Cook. The aircraft then operated at 1BFTS at Uranquinty from 28.2.52. It was placed in storage in 1956 and sold on 17.3.58 making it one of the last Tiger Moths to be sold by the RAAF. The aircraft was partially destroyed by a bushfire near Streatham, VIC on 12.2.77 but was restored in the late eighties and then owned and operated by Bill Bennett at Moorabbin Airport conducting joyflights until mid 2005 when it was purchased by Garry Herne. The aircraft underwent a major restoration in early 2006 and is finished in a post-war silver colour scheme with its original RAAF serial numbers.

Participant Requirements
Height max 6ft 6. Weight max 120kg. In good health. A camera can be carried on board the aircraft. All loose objects including coins to be removed from pockets before boarding. Do not enter the tarmac area where the aircraft is situated unless escorted.
Cancellations
A $50 cancellation fee applies if cancelled within 24 hours or you do not show up on the day.
